Cobble Hill Puzzle Wins Tillywig Award

The following information was published in Toys & Games Magazine: (Toys and Games is an online publication for Canada's toy industry.)

July 1st, 2011

Cobble Hill’s Create Your Own Puzzle with Pencil Crayons recently picked up a spring 2011 Tillywig Sterling Fun Award. Cobble Hill, which is a division of Victoria, BC’s well-known game and puzzle manufacturer, Outset Media, was one of 20 award winners and the only Canadian company to make the U.S. organization’s annual awards list.

The Cobble Hill-brand product includes two blank, pre-cutpuzzle boards and pencil crayons that allow kids, three and over, to create their own illustrated masterpieces. “The back of each puzzle board has a certificate circle for the artist’s name and age, making it a perfect memento that will give pleasure for years to come,” said Tillywig testers.

Tillywig, an Illinois-based organization, provides retail buyers, news media, parents, and consumers with product information and reviews of a variety of children’s products available in the North American marketplace. Reviews are based on product testing that looks at criteria, such as entertainment and/or educational value, clarity of instructions, durability, level of interaction, and how well the item promotes creativity, new ways of thinking and/or physical development.

For a complete list of winners, visit the Tillywig website. http://www.tillywig.com/award-winners.php

Cobble Hill Puzzle Company Launches New Website

Outset Media is pleased to announce that the new website for the Cobble Hill Puzzle Company is now live.

Cobble Hill Puzzles are quickly becoming one of the most respected puzzle brands in North America. If you are planning to carry Cobble Hill Puzzles this season, be sure to check out the new website at http://www.cobblehillpuzzles.com/ . The site went live only 2 weeks ago so there are a lot of retailers to be added to the ‘Where to Buy’ section. The sole purpose of this section is to drive consumers to your store so if you would like to be added, there is a section on the title bar called ‘For Retailers’ where you can add your store listing. It takes only a minute or two to complete the form. Also in the 'For Retailers' section is a link where you can download all of the Cobble Hill Puzzle images for use in your marketing materials and on your website. Let me know if you have any questions but, in the meantime, check out the website.

National media coverage for Outset Media games and puzzles

A staff writer for the Sun and Osprey Media papers (over 50 papers in all) plans to use five of our games and two puzzles in her gift guide. This is huge coverage. Follow the links to Sun and Osprey to see the listing of the papers included. The products are: PickTwo Deluxe, one of the 'Professor Noggin card game' titles, 'What?', 'Theories', 'Wacky Stacky', and 2 family puzzles: 'Serengeti Dusk' and 'Dragon Hunters'. She might still use the 'Create Your Own Puzzles' too.

This is not written in stone and she has already had her word count cut once and, as we all know, stories do get bumped, but at this point this is what she plans.
