Late in 2010, Spin Master purchased a number of products from Imagination Games. These games included Quelf, Quelf Junior, Fact or Crap, Battle of the Sexes, Beat the Parents, Would You Rather, Urban Myth and where applicable, the associated card games for these games. Many of our retailers had done extremely well with these products and I think we were all a little disappointed at the prospect of losing them. This is an agreement that has been a few months in the making, but we are pleased to announce that Outset Media will continue to distribute these games through Spin Master. In addition, we will also be distributing a new game called Logo as well as an old favourite of mine, Stratego.
These are all very, very good games and with the marketing budget of a company like Spin Master behind them, there is a significant opportunity for retailers to take advantage. However, it is also important for us to mention that these products are owned by Spin Master and, as such, are most likely available in mass-market retailers. As we are a sub-distributor for these games, we have no control over the placement or the retail prices mass-market retailers are charging for these games. With this fact in mind, Outset Media has set up a different pricing stucture for the Spin Master line that will allow independent retailers to take advantage of the additional sales this line can offer while at the same time remaining reasonably competetive with the mass-market retailers.
